ANZAC day thoughts

We had a little think about ANZAC day and the soldiers we are remembering.  We looked at some old photos of the soldiers in the trenches, some maps of where the war was and some photos of the fields of poppies. Then we read the story book called " My grandad marches on ANZAC day" . Finally we made poppies to honour the soldiers and make a display in our room. Maybe some of us will go to watch the patades next week or go to see the wreaths on the cenotaph afterwards.
Lest we forget.

And easter bunnies

We have also been making easter bunnies today. More cutting out, following instructions and checking we have done all the steps. Aren't they cute?

Easter chicks

Having a lovely time making easter chicks. Big "ahhhh!" Factor as the wings are your littly's hand print!

Student Led Conferences

What a great day today.  It was lovely to see so many parents supporting their children to share their learning. Thanks for making the time to come in and see what your children have been working on this term. I am looking forward to seeing the rest of you tomorrow!

Working hard

We have had an awesome day being self reliant and self motivated to complete tasks properly. This morning Joy read with nearly all the reading groups by herself so we had to do our reading tasks AND then carry on to do maths activities. We had ' must do ' jobs and then we could do ' can do' jobs to practise our skills.  Joy was so proud we got two class behaviour points on our ' pie'. Then here we are this afternoon focused on making amazing title pages for our portfolios. Yay us!

Gooey slimy writing

We got the science gear out today and Joy made jelly worms, jelly crystals, insta-snow and slime! They were really weird and really cool. It was almost too exciting to be able to stop touching the stuff and actually do some writing but these guys did have some good ideas.
Cruze - "when you feel it in your hand it feels funny"
Maia - "The worm looks like water and it is slimey"
David wrote "The snow looks like salt".

Now room 4 is going to have fun with the stuff. It will be interesting to see what they write.
